Expressing my Concerns

Today I had a brief but very intense conversation with Melanie over lunch. I've realized that the two of us have been letting ourselves get caught up in an escalating battle of wills with our kids, particularly Justice. It has led to raised voices and giving orders on both sides. So I talked to Melanie about it and we argued a bit. I left the house feeling really bad about "fighting" with Melanie, but also feeling like I had to say what I said (details not necessary for this forum :-) ).

Anyway, we're in a townhouse in Baltimore while I am working at a great place as an agile coach. I'm enjoying it very much: it is both challenging and easy. I feel that I am offering a lot of value, I am challenging the corporate culture in a good way, and I have been getting to know some really great people. We got here Jan. 16th and we'll be here until Apr. 7th or so. My dad and Anna are coming to visit next weekend.

Losing Weight - 207 lbs this morning

Over the last couple of weeks I've made some reasonable progress in losing weight. I didn't quite make it to my goal of 205 by time of my wedding anniversary, but... I'm now close. I figure that in another couple of weeks I can get down to 203-205 range. And I hope to break through the 200 barrier sometime in late August. I haven't been doing any workouts lately which is a problem... but I'll start again this week coming up.

Two Days of Good Workouts

I went the the gym today and yesterday, both without appointments with my personal trainer. I'm getting accustomed to doing so. When I go, I tend to focus on cardio stuff: stationary bikes, treadmill, elliptical and only a small amount on other stuff: crunches, and a little arm work. I also managed to work out a bit this past weekend. We all went to Sudbury to visit with my mom, my grandma Senyk, and my aunt Gloria. We stayed at a hotel and I went to the gym both mornings (although only for a very short cardio workout). I'm eating slightly better, but still not great... I've got a week left to lose at least five pounds. Ug!

Getting better. Slower than I had hoped... but better nevertheless. I've only got about 12 days left till my commitment has to be fulfilled... it's gonna be tough!

Ug, went backwards :-( Big dinner last night partly to blame. I gave Melanie my personal firm commitment to have made a noticable drop in weight by time our anniversary rolls around. She was impressed and grateful. Now I've really got to do it!
